Description
WELILE NTOMBIFUTHI MSIMANGO is a lecturer in the Department of Curriculum and Instructional Studies at the University of Zululand. She received her early education at a school in Melmoth. After completing Standard 5 (Grade 7), she attended Entembeni Secondary School, where she completed Standards 6 to 8 (Grades 8 to 10). She then moved on to Impande High School, where she did her Matric. After her Matric, she spent two years applying to various Teacher Education colleges. She was accepted by the Mpumalanga College of Education in Hammersdale and completed her 3-year Diploma in Education as a qualified teacher. Sixteen years later she enrolled at the University of South Africa and obtained an Advanced Certificate in Education specializing in Technology Education, an Advanced Certificate in Computer Integrated Education, an Honours Bachelor of Education with specialization in Inclusive Education, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Tertiary Education. She then enrolled at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (Edgewood Campus) and studied for a master’s degree specializing in Curriculum and Instructional Studies. She received a certificate from the Mentoring in Schools Program for Teachers and completed her PhD in Curriculum and Instructional Studies. She has taught in urban schools, former Model C schools, and rural schools for more than fifteen years. She also worked as a tutor at the University of KwaZulu-Natal before joining the University of Zululand in 2017. She trains pre-service teachers, supervises Honours Degree, Master’s Degree and Doctoral postgraduate students.
